**Role**:
Assistant principals have a primary responsibility for the management of significant areas or functions within the school to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school's education program. In exercising the responsibility, assistant principals will have the authority to make all significant decisions relating to the program, budget and staff relating to their area of designated responsibility within the framework of the school's strategic plan, policies and budget. Assistant principals will contribute to the overall management of the school through involvement in policy formulation and decision making. The management of significant school program or functional areas in schools involve assistant principals in the analysis of the needs of students and the translation of state educational policy and frameworks into appropriate education programs to meet the needs of all students.

**Role Summary**

**Responsibilities**:
The Campus Assistant Principal, will perform the following functions on behalf of NBC:

- Support the leadership and implementation of effective instructional practices as they pertain to NBC
- Implement and sustain the development of consistent college processes throughout all Campus classrooms, site operations and staff collaborative practices
- Lead the development of proactive use of student learning and engagement data through all learning programs
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Leading Teachers and emerging leaders
- Lead a College wide PLC
- Share responsibility for the development and effective implementation of the College Annual Improvement Plan
- Along with other members of the College PCO team take a leading role in the organisation of curriculum days
- Oversee all aspects of the operation of the campus including the educational welfare of all students and the maintenance of pastoral care
- Along with the Campus Principal be responsible for general student welfare and discipline matters beyond the management of classroom teachers and assist and support sub school leaders and staff with the implementation of the Student Code of Conduct
- In conjunction with appropriate staff, provide counselling and advice to staff on matters relating to classroom management
- In conjunction with the College Leadership team implement the performance and development program
- Oversee the development of personal professional learning plans and assist individuals in gaining appropriate training to fulfil their goals
- Provide leadership and support to enable all teachers to improve their teaching through the use of informed feedback data from a range of sources
- Support the development of a College Communication Strategy and contribute to College communication initiatives including the newsletter, website and media interest in College programs
- Allocation of budgets, positions of responsibility and other resources within relevant programs
- Other duties as requested by the College Principal
