Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,800 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.
Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community. In doing this, we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study, careers, service and life in general.
We are currently seeking to appoint a **Kindergarten **Teacher** to work at our Drouin East campus, commencing in Term 1 next year.
Responsible to the Head of Kindergartens, the main responsibilities of the Kindergarten Teacher are to ensure that the planned curriculum is delivered well, and that the classroom is administered and operated within the guidelines and policies set by the school board and executive leadership team.
Some other responsibilities include:
- Providing a godly example to students and fellow staff members through their teaching practice, manner, relationships and general lifestyle
- Supporting, encouraging and nurturing students
- Conducting daily activities to fulfil the aims and objectives set out in the Chairo Kinder educational policies and mission statement
- Actively initiating and engaging in positive communication with students, parents and staff members
- Demonstrated commitment to the school’s Statement of Faith
- Appropriate registration and compliance with the standards of professional practice as required by the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- Thorough knowledge of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Quality Improvement frameworks, as well as the practice principles
- Well-informed understanding of current educational practices and philosophies, including within Christian schools and kindergartens
- Sound knowledge of teaching from a Christian worldview perspective
