Teach, undertake research and publish in the area of Play Therapy. Promote the School and maintain links with relevant academic, industry and professional communities. Make an independent contribution to the School’s teaching, research and program development. Engage as a dedicated educator in the nested structure of therapeutic play and play therapy courses, including supervision of clinical practice. Prepare and deliver experiential sessions using creative and playful ways.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Maintain current play therapy discipline knowledge which is applied to inform unit design
- Lead unit teaching teams and works collaboratively with other unit teaching teams in the courses
- Implement creative teaching practices to improve student success and engagement
- Supervise clinical play therapy placement students with constructive feedback and timely completions.
- Contribute to discipline-based educational or pedagogy research projects
- Widely communicates through publication outputs to the play therapy discipline and the community
- Support seeking funding for research and creative activities
- Build national reputation, based on growing, focused body of work recognised for quality, excellence and impact
- Supervise and mentor play therapy master projects and/or HDR students with timely completions and productive, high quality outcomes

**Key selection criteria for this role**:

- Qualifications and experience_
- essential: Masters of Play Therapy, and experience in the field as a practising play therapist
- desirable: PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience in the field of play therapy and/or working with children and families in a therapeutic role
- record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design
- emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions
- ability to make a contribution to community engagement for research and teaching
- capacity to contribute to leadership of teaching, research and/or administration
- excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues
