**About the team**:
The Australian Radioactive Waste Agency (ARWA) is leading the responsible management and safe storage and disposal of Australia’s radioactive waste. A key element of ARWA’s program is the delivery of the National Radioactive Waste Management Facility which will provide a purpose-built, highly engineered solution to manage radioactive waste from sources such as nuclear medicine production.

**Nuclear Literacy**
Radioactive waste exists in many locations around the country, including hospitals, science facilities and universities. While these locations maintain safety measures, they were not specifically designed for long-term waste management, making their continued use unsustainable. Therefore, the construction and operation of a dedicated facility is needed. The facility will safeguard the future of Australia's nuclear medicine industry and nuclear research capabilities. ARWA will continue foster a culture of safety and security by demonstrating international best practice and work to increase nuclear literacy in Australia through education and awareness.

**The opportunity**:
The Assistant Manager, Integrated Management System (IMS)/Quality Management System (QMS) is responsible for the development and implementation of ARWA’s IMS/QMS. The incumbent will continually improve and enhance system and process effectiveness, lead the implementation of programs and activities with reference to relevant ISO standards and principles. Reporting to the Manager, Program Management Office (PMO), the Assistant Manager IMS/QMS will promote awareness of requirements of the systems across the agency and liaise with external stakeholders for development, maintenance and control of the IMS/QMS system.

- Significant experience in identifying and implementing corrective measures.
- Demonstrated drive to engage and collaborate with colleagues.
- Demonstrated experience managing effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, in particular the demonstrated ability to provide sound advice and prepare written reports and briefings.
- Ability to work in a fluid environment, remaining flexible, agile, and adaptable supporting colleagues at short notice.
- Proficient in industry related software such as MS Project / Word / Excel.
- A valid Australian driver’s licence.
- Sound understanding of Commonwealth Government processes.
- Tertiary qualifications or certifications in Project Management, Business Administration, Quality Management Systems and Internal Auditor experience or related field and/or relevant equivalent experience.

- Drive the development, maintenance, and implementation of ARWA’s overarching IMS/QMS.
- Continuously enhance the internal IMS/QMS documentation, incorporating the elements of relevant ISO standards. Implement and lead an ARWA IMS/QMS Steering Working Group.
- Facilitate the review of the IMS/QMS systems by senior management through monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Identify, establish, and implement system improvement initiatives.
- Drafting, reviewing, controlling, and reporting on appropriate documentation.
- Produce quality documentation and ensure the quality of documents are maintained as per an established review cycle.
