Engineering Applications (ENAP) is a respected mechanical engineering and construction company based in Hemmant with over 40 years' experience in the design, fabrication, installation and maintenance of varying types of process plant & equipment including building maintenance and construction management services.

**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for an industry experienced Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to join the team at Engineering Applications. The role will report directly to the Health, Safety and Environment Manager and will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining ENAP’s workplace health and safety management system in line with current legislation and codes of practice, along with maintaining and improveing our workplace safety culture. The role is based at our office branch in Hemmant on a permanent full-time basis.

**The HSE Advisor role will be responsible for;**
- Administration of the existing Workplace Health and Safety Management System (non-certified AS4801) and implementing additional systems as necessary.
- Administration and implementation of the Environmental Management System (non-certified ISO 14001).
- Implement, monitor and enforce Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures and safety and environment initiatives.
- Proactive in promoting a continuous improvement safety culture.
- Drive the companies Risk Management, Risk Assessment, Hazard Identification and Hazard Control processes, including hazard and corrective action registers.
- Conduct proactive safety auditing and safety inspections of internal sites and client sites including on-site projects and maintenance activities.
- Assist with incident reporting, incident investigations and recommend and implement appropriate corrective actions and solutions seeing them through to completion.
- Manage WorkCover claims management, suitable duties plans and rehabilitation and return to work programs.
- Undertake internal safety and induction training and organise appropriate safety and induction training on client sites.

**The successful applicant will be a knowledgeable and industry experienced HSE practitioner with one or more of the following desirable attributes;**
- Cert IV or Diploma in Workplace Health and Safety
- Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
- Qualified Rehab and Return to Work Coordinator
- Construction Blue/White Card (mandatory).
- Current First Aid and CPR (mandatory).
- Industry experience gained working in a WHS role within engineering, civil construction, electrical, mining or manufacturing.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships
- Technical Knowledge - Trusted to provide holistic technical advice on relevant legislation and codes of practice and able to professionally deliver training sessions and toolbox talks.
- Relevant knowledge and/or training in high-risk activities relevant to industry including; Work at Heights, Confined Space, Hot Works and Isolations.
- with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
- Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Outlook & ERP Systems.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
