**Ergon Energy Network and Energex supply electricity to residential and business customers Queensland-wide. Your energy can help us deliver and maintain a world-class electricity distribution network to our communities. We are part of Energy Queensland and have depots and offices located throughout Queensland.**

Energex’s Field Delivery is responsible for the safe delivery of the overhead and underground construction and maintenance program of works, as well as the core functions of customer service response, including customer fault response and disaster management, customer connections, customer relationships and provision of metering services. The core tasks are constructing and maintaining overhead/ underground high and low voltage electrical distribution and sub-transmission systems, street lighting mains and customer service line.

**The role**

As a Power Worker you will:

- Follow established work practices and promote and maintain safety, whilst controlling environmental impacts and complying with legislative responsibilities. Identify and eliminate hazards and potentially dangerous situations.
- Responsible for the care and safe use of assigned vehicles, plant, tools and equipment, while also maintaining and checking the operation of equipment.
- Possess the ability to follow directions and appreciate the physical requirements of carrying out manual work with the willingness to learn.
- Perform basic data entry task and information retrieval using electronic technology.
- Monitor and maintain both material and stock levels, ensuring adequate stock is on hand.
- Responsible for safe handling, use of hazardous substances in accordance with relevant training and experience

Critical to your success in the role is your:

- Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
- Ensure work is performed to meet safety and environmental responsibilities in accordance with standard work practices.
- Comply with ENERGEX Policy and legislative requirements in relation to record keeping.
- Ensure compliance with ENERGEX’s compliance regime and adhere to all laws, policies, procedures, codes, standards and guidelines that relate to this position
- Able to work in exposed conditions (sun, wind, rain etc). The employee may need the ability to work at heights or confirmed spaces.
- Be prepared to travel intra or interstate from time to time to undertake work.
- HR Drivers Licence (essential)
- C2 Crane Licence or greater (highly regarded)
- Lifter Borer experience including live High Voltage lifts (highly regarded)
- Willingness to undertake further training.

Ability to participate in an on-call roster and attend call out emergencies if required.
