The Radio Installation Technicians role is responsible for assisting with the installation and deinstallation of communications and associated technical equipment used within the SA Ambulance Service fleet of vehicles, ensuring that such equipment is fitted and maintained in compliance with SA Ambulance Service requirements and appropriate Australian Standards.
This role reports to the Fleet Services Supervisor and works with a team of Mechanical Service Technicians and Trade Assistants at the Fleet Services workshop.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Vehicle Installations:
- Install equipment to maintain a serviceable level of operation in vehicles.
- Manufacture or source and ensure continuity of installation components parts as per requirements.
2. Maintenance and Workspace Management:
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative in making decisions and taking appropriate actions.
- Maintain tools and equipment in accordance with the role and function of the position.
3. Recording and Reporting:
- Update the fleet management system as required.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, vehicle faults, and moves and changes.
4. Inventory and Preventative Maintenance:
- Monitor tools and equipment to facilitate preventative maintenance.
5. Customer Service and Teamwork:
- Handle all requests and queries in a courteous, prompt, and efficient manner to ensure attainment of trust and respect.
- Provide an exceptional standard of customer service.
- Source information from users for fault diagnosis of equipment.
6. Professional Development and Communication:
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of workplace practices and efficiencies by complying with relevant legislation and SAAS and Fleet Services policies.
- Attend meetings, workshops, training sessions, and review publications and audio-visual materials to remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas.
