Animal Caretaker

AdelaideVet is a group of four small animal veterinary practices located in Adelaide. Our locations include:

- AdelaideVet - Trinity Gardens
- AdelaideVet - Prospect
- AdelaideVet - Goodwood Road
- AdelaideVet - Stirling

Our four locations provide a range of veterinary services including; routine consultations, wellness check ups and health care advice, diagnostic services as well as full hospital and intensive care facilities for emergencies, routine and major surgery and illnesses. A complete range of health care products, pet accessories, pet food and prescription diets are available.

**We are looking for someone with a passion for animal care to join the team on a casual basis as our new Animal Caretaker, working across all 4 locations.**

**Position Involves**:

- Tending and maintaining cat boarding facilities
- Caring for all cat boarders
- Administering cat boarder medications as directed
- Maintaining hospital cleanliness
- Preparing the hospital and wards for the incoming patients
- Cleaning cages and patients where required throughout the day
- Feeding patients according to instructions
- Ensuring hospital patients are walked at the required times
- Assisting the veterinary nurses with their duties
- Answering of phones and booking appointments
- Assisting with the daily washing of bedding
- Animal handling under supervision
- Monitoring patients for any unusual, concerning behaviour

**Applicant must have**:

- Certificate II Animal Studies qualifications or higher
- Ability to effectively work independently but also as part of a larger team
- Significant experience handling animals including administrating medication
- Extraordinary customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- A proactive and hardworking attitude
- An eye for detail
- Common sense and a positive, solution-based approach
- Current driver's license
