About the role

We’re looking for a talented leader who loves retail, loves a challenge, and loves waking up each day with a passion for making a difference. Take ultimate accountability to drive and lead growth whilst providing an inspiring in-store experience for our team, customers and community members.

You will successfully
- Work alongside the Store Manager and provide management of the day to day operations of the Family Store, ensuring the store is presentable, provides excellent customer service and has adequate stock levels
- Lead a team of workers by providing regular training, direction, feedback and performance management, to ensure they adhere to Policy and Procedures and invest in staff professional development as required
- Manage and ensure effective marketing of goods for sale, including the oversight of social media delegating to staff for implementation and liaising with Public Relations to ensure adherence to policy and procedure.
- Ensure the correct handling of incoming and outgoing stock and rotation of stock with appropriate sales and promotions.
- Support with material aid related enquiries and duties in line with TSA policies and procedures as requested by the Store Manager
- This is a permanent, part-time role (23 hrs per week). Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Employee Level 6.- You will have
- An appreciation of, and the ability and willingness to promote, support and model, the values and ethos of The Salvation Army
- Proven experience in retail management, ideally 5 years +
- Demonstrated people management skills with an emphasis on volunteers and the community
- Evidence of a strong focus and commitment to outstanding customer service
- Sound presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact and network positively with a variety of people
- Experienced and confident in using POS, computer systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Team player, flexible with a positive attitude
- Experience in mentoring/training and managing staff
- Incumbent needs to have a reasonable level of fitness in order to carry out the duties of this position
- Current valid Driver’s Licence
- A national police record check is required, and an International Police Check if applicable
- Current First aid certificate or willingness to obtain one
