**About the role**:
As an Injury Management & Rehabilitation Consultant, your primary responsibility will be to assist Victoria Police with meeting return to work (RTW) obligations in accordance with the _Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013_.

You will support Victoria Police compliance with its RTW obligations through consultation and planning with relevant stakeholders and provision of support to ill/injured workers to safely and sustainably stay at work or return to work as soon as appropriate.

Reporting to the Injury Management Operations Manager, you will be experienced in and required to advise and assist managers to address complex work-related psychological injuries.

**Your duties will include**:

- Providing advice and guidance to managers to ensure Victoria Police and employees meet return to work obligations in accordance with the _Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013_._
- Assisting injured employees, where safe & practical to remain at work while they recover or return to work as soon as possible if they require time away.
- Consulting and planning with injured employees, their managers and treatment providers about work capacity, treatment and suitable employment options for the duration of the 52-week obligation period and beyond where necessary.
- Monitoring recovery of injured workers and assisting with the development and review of return-to-work arrangements by assessing and proposing options for suitable employment or pre-injury employment in consultation with key parties (employee, managers, treating health practitioners, Worksafe Agent).
- Facilitating pro-active early intervention and prevention strategies as well as contributing to the upskilling of managers to help influence/enhance stay at work outcomes
- Assisting with resolving any return-to-work related issues and disputes.

**As the successful applicant, you will have**:

- At least 3 years' experience in the Victorian workers' compensation scheme, as it relates to employers' obligations in relation to return to work and how to plan a workers' return to work would be an advantage.
- Qualifications in one or more of Occupational Rehabilitation, Personal Injury Management, Allied/Mental Health coupled with experience & understanding of contemporary workplace-based injury management practice would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and continuous improvement of workplace-based Injury & Claims Management programs within a large, complex organisational environment would be an advantage.
- Strong judgement, communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to remain impartial while influencing and negotiating.
- The ability to work in a team and collaboratively with all stakeholders.

**Requirements and relevant information**:

- One (1) x part time (0.6FTE), ongoing position available.
- VPS4 salary range $91,418 - $103,725 per annum pro rata + super + leave loading.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
