Purpose
As a Public Area Cleaner, reporting to the Building Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all public areas within the Abode Building. Your role is crucial in ensuring that shared spaces are kept spotless, with close attention to even the smallest details. You should be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with your team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform all cleaning duties in both internal and external public areas, including the driveway, loading dock, street frontage, and windows, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitisation, and presentation
- Safely handle and use specialised chemicals and equipment
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitisation of the pool, gym, and shared bathroom facilities, while also maintaining appropriate stock levels
- Manage rubbish removal, including placing 240-litre bins out for weekly council collection and cleaning bins once emptied, along with daily changing of bins for the garbage chute system
- Prepare trolleys and clean equipment to ensure readiness for the next shift
- Participate in shift handovers and effectively respond to emergency situations
- Provide concierge services to residents as needed, such as managing key security, responding to inquiries, and handling the distribution of deliveries, all while ensuring privacy and confidentiality
- Adhere to and perform tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures

Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a cleaner, room attendant, or public areas attendant in a commercial environment is a plus
- Your communication style is warm and welcoming, making both residents and team members feel at ease
- You have an eye for detail and work efficiently, managing your time well and taking pride in your tasks
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks without supervision
- Ada Capability to handle the physical demands of the role
- Reliability and availability to work across a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays
