Coordinator Transport Operations

The Coordinator Transport Operations is a newly created role within Scenic Rim Regional Council’s Maintenance and Operations business unit. The coordinator will manage a small team of two technical staff.

This position presents an opportunity for a developing Civil Engineer with experience in road corridor management and / or road network evaluations to expand their career in a supportive and technical team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage and deliver the rural road numbering program.
- Manage development and delivery of Council's sign and line marking maintenance and minor installations program.
- Liaise with public and private organisations and stakeholders including the Department of Transport and Main Roads, regarding transport operations, school zones and other road network impacts.

**Qualifications and Attributes**:

- Tertiary qualification in traffic engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the management of transport infrastructure and operations in accordance with statutory and legislative requirements.
- Ability to prepare technical reports.
- Understanding of asset management principles, the development of asset management plans and principles in the management of roads infrastructure operations.
- High level interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with staff, community members, contractors, and internal and external stakeholders.

Scenic Rim is set in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and surrounded by World Heritage-listed national parks. Home to a population of more than 40,000, the region covers 4254sq km and is located an hour south of Brisbane and an hour inland from the Gold Coast.
