**Assistant Manager - Petrol and Convenience - Moonee Ponds**

**About the Role**: As the Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our petrol and convenience store. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Assisting the Store Manager in daily operations, including managing staff, inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Leading by example and providing exceptional customer service to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers.
- Supervising and training staff members to deliver excellent customer service, maintain store cleanliness, and uphold high merchandising standards.
- Handling cash transactions, including opening and closing registers, reconciling cash drawers, and ensuring accuracy in cash handling procedures.
- Managing inventory levels, receiving and processing deliveries, and ensuring proper stock rotation to minimise wastage.
- Collaborating with the Store Manager to analyse sales data, identify trends, and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and maximise profitability.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe working environment for staff and customers.
- Assisting in resolving customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Supporting the Store Manager in administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and reporting.

**Skills and Experience**: To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

- **Proven experience in a retail or convenience store environment, preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager capacity.**:

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
- Knowledge of petrol station operations, including fuel management and safety protocols, is desirable.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
