An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and motivated individual to join the The Cyber Security Division as Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst at the Department of Govdernment Services.
The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve Victorian's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government.
The Cyber Security Division (CSD) works collaboratively with departments and agencies to deliver Victoria's Cyber Strategy 2021 and reduce harm from cyber incidents.
This Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst role contributes to the success of the Victorian Government Cyber Incident Response Service (CIRS). CIRS provides Victorian Government organisations with expert cyber threat intelligence, cyber incident and emergency management services, operating from the Cyber Safety Unit within Digital Victoria.
The role provides cyber threat intelligence and technical advice that contributes to the effective management of cyber incidents and emergencies in Victoria. This is a varied and fast paced role that requires intermittent after-hours work both as part of an after-hours ‘duty officer' roster and during significant cyber incident and emergency situations.
About you
- Previous experience and an aptitude for intelligence and analyst activities including forecasting, monitoring and trend assessment utilising a range of information and technology.
- Demonstrated experience in delivery cyber threat intelligence outputs.
- Sound analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills and proven ability to plan and organise work and produce high quality results.
- Well developed influencing, negotiating and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of internal and external personnel and stakeholders.

Mandatory requirement
- Ability to successfully acquire and maintain a NEGATIVE VETTING 2 level security clearance in Australia (requires Australian citizenship).
- Participation in an on-call roster and the ability to perform intermittent after-hours work in response to cyber security incidents or issues.
