The Role
The opportunity has become available for casual Clinical Coders to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Actively participate in the Gold Coast Health's Clinical Coding education, evaluation and auditing program
- Complete Queensland Cancer registry notifications and appropriate Electronic Validation Application (EVA) error review
- Utilise Code Focus for the purpose of managing coding assignment and supporting key clinical coding workflows
- Operate independently and be influential in effecting the provision of clinical coding
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- Diploma in Clinical Coding or a relevant qualification
- Clinical coding experience in a hospital and healthcare setting, tertiary level is highly desirable
- Ability to assign accurate morbidity and procedural classifications to episodes of care in accordance with ICD-AM (current edition preferred), ACHI and Australian Coding Standards
- High level computer skills in a range of systems
- Evidence of vaccination and remain vaccinated against - COVID 19
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Casual
- Base salary ranging from $54.70 - $60.27 per hour
