**Senior Executive Leadership Position**

Are you an experienced Building Surveyor with a passion for delivering high-quality services in the local community? We are looking for a skilled and motivated Municipal Building Surveyor to join our team. In this leadership role, you’ll oversee building services across Wellington Shire and East Gippsland Shire Councils ensuring compliance with legislation, managing inspections, and supervising dedicated teams.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Administer building services in line with the Building Act 1993 and associated regulations.
- Supervise a team of Building Inspectors, Deputy Municipal Building Surveyor, and Administration staff.
- Oversee public safety an ensure compliance with building regulations, including the management f of pool safety and the coordination of legal actions where necessary.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Council goals and community outcomes.

**What You Will Bring**:

- Degree or diploma qualifications with extensive experience in a building control related field in a relevant building control field, with significant experience in municipal building services or a related agency.
- Extensive knowledge of all relevant Legislation, Building Codes and Standards together with an extensive knowledge of building methods, materials and practices
- Registration as a Building Surveyor Unlimited with the Building Practitioners Board.
- Legal experience in the preparation of court briefs is vital
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage a high-performing team.
- Ability to resolve complex problems, make decisions autonomously, and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
