**The Opportunity**
- Visy Board offer unique, fully integrated, closed loop packaging solutions. We recycle paper, remanufacturing that same paper into a range of products including boxes. We are one of the largest packaging manufacturers in this part of the world. As a fitter you will ensure that our machines are running at an optimum level, performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and managing breakdowns.
- The facility in Yatala services Queensland’s FMCG markets. We produce boxes for some of Australia’s leading consumer brands, businesses within food delivery, wine production and primary produce.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be part of a high performing team responsible for the maintenance and repair of plant and equipment like our Corrugators, Automated Feeders, Dye Cutters, Forming and Inking Machines.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Execution of a safe working environment for all employees, reporting all incidents and near misses.
- Maintain manufacturing equipment and site infrastructure according to preventative maintenance schedules.
- Update our maintenance system, report any impact on workshop inventory and follow-on maintenance.
- Participate in cross-functional and multi-site projects, testing and installation of any new equipment and/or the execution of improved processes.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives.
**What you will bring to the team**:
- Basic oxy acetylene gas experience as a minimum together with mig/tig/stick welding skills
- You are analytical and keenly focussed on process and continuous improvement
- Mechanical trade qualifications, a valid forklift license and are computer literate
- Experience working in a fast paced, high-volume environment while maintaining the required safety standards
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a “get the job done” approach every day
This facility will run a rotating roster, you will mainly work on days however there will be a requirement for some night shift rosters every 3-4 weeks.
