Metal Fabricator

_Perth Steel Fabrication Pty Ltd is a West Australian Metal Fabrication business. We provide steel products for our sister company, Nature Play Solutions. These are items such as steel frames for cubbies and monkey bars._
- We are currently seeking a full time, experienced and qualified Metal Fabricator to join our busy metal fabricator team in our workshop in Kewdale, WA._
- **Duties and Responsibilities**_
- _Read and interpret design drawings._
- _Build relevant components or play equipment items from tunnels, bridge, climber frame, water pump by preparing, marking, cutting, shaping, bending, grinding, polishing, cropping, pressing, heat treatment, measuring and aligning steel with the necessary tools, equipment, and machineries._
- _Join metal sections and structures together using welding, bolting or riveting methods._
- _Clean welded joints prior to dispatch for surface treatment._
- _Provide suggestions for improvements to product designs to improve safety, efficiency, and aesthetics, reduce waste, and environmental impact._
- _Work independently on tasks, as well as working well as part of the fabrication team._
- _Liaise with the product design team when required._
- _Along with other fabricators, provide support to apprentices in developing their skills._
- _Assist site teams with installation of play equipment when required_
- _Ensure the work environment is kept tidy and safe for self, co-workers, and visitors._
- _Adhere to occupational health and safety requirements, for example identifying hazards, working in accordance with safe work practices, ensuring competency of any task undertaken._
- _Participate in staff meetings when scheduled._
- _Keep daily timesheets, recording hours worked, items made, and relevant project numbers._
- **Relevant Qualification**_
- Relevant Certificate III or IV qualification with at least 2 years relevant experience OR 3 years relevant experience._
- **Relevant Experience**_
- _Relevant industry experience - minimum 2 years_
- _Ability to work under pressure_

- **Salary**_
- $60,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation_

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
