Our client is a large federal government department located in Canberra.

**The Opportunity**:
You will have the opportunity to contribute to building knowledge and understanding of departmental priorities within the People Strategy and Development Section to ensure that capability development is aligned with the needs of the business and supported by effective systems.

You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and undertake more complex tasks including research, and analysis activities, provide input to high-level papers, and identify efficiencies and opportunities to improve and/or streamline our systems and processes.

**The Role**:
The APS6 Senior HR Reporting Officer, you will be responsible for producing, analysing and communicating employee data to inform business decision making, and supporting the achievement of section, branch and department priorities.

You will:

- Manage regular and ad-hoc employee reports and analysis including the preparation of regular SES reports, Senate Estimate Briefs, Questions on Notice, SES Cap Reporting, APS Remuneration Survey and other ad-hoc reporting as required
- Coordinate employee surveys including the APS Employee Census, State of the Service Agency Survey, and entry and exit surveys
- Identify and provide feedback on efficiencies and opportunities to improve and/or streamline systems and processes
- Manage relationships with stakeholders to achieve work area and agency goals, including the development and support of complex relationships and maintaining internal and external networks
- Provide expert advice and interpretation of HR data, including preparing relevant strategic advice where required
- Build capability in the team to enable reporting tools to be utilised in a self-service manner

**Your Background and Experience**:
To be successful in this role you will have contemporary skills and experience in HR reporting and analysis, including highly developed data analysis skills using HRMIS. You will also have:

- Experience in PowerBI and/or other data visualisation tools is desirable
- Experience using Aurion
- Demonstrated interpersonal, people management and stakeholder engagement skills, and experience in fostering a positive and professional team approach
- Well-developed communication skills with proven experience in preparing succinct and cohesive written materials
- A successful record of quality in client service delivery
- Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to use judgement and problem-solving skills and the ability to provide flexible solutions to complex matters

**Salary / Rate**:

- $91k - $99k + 15.4% Super
- Flexible working arrangements
