Foaling Attendants are responsible for ensuring the following tasks are carried out;
- Monitor pregnant mares using advanced techniques and tools to anticipate and assist with foalings.
- Provide immediate and skilled assistance during the foaling process, ensuring the safety of both mare and foal.
- Administer essential neonatal care, ensuring foals are well-equipped for a healthy start.
- Collaborate closely with veterinarians and breeding specialists to optimize breeding success.
- Maintain accurate records of foalings, mare behaviour, and medical interventions.
- Respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations while seeking veterinary support if needed.
- Foster a clean and hygienic environment in foaling stalls and surroundings.

**What you will bring to the team**

To be successful in this role, there are a few things we are looking for:

- Previous experience working with horses, particularly in a breeding or foaling context, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of equine anatomy, reproduction, and neonatal care.
- Exceptional observational skills to detect subtle changes in behaviour and health.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including overnights, during the foaling season.
- Physical fitness and confidence in handling horses of varying temperaments.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Detail-oriented with strong organization and record-keeping abilities.
- Enthusiastic about adapting to a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress environment.
- Additionally, you will demonstrate emotional intelligence, physical stamina and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
