Pathways and Outreach Officer Reconnect

The incumbent will provide individual case management to disengaged learners, offering guidance, support and linking them to support services to address any barriers impacting their engagement in learning. We need staff who are energetic, flexible, able to work autonomously yet be part of a team, proactive and able to use their initiative.

The position is focused on three key areas:

- Partnerships/networking with internal and external services
- Pathway engagement and development
- Maintenance of detailed casework records using office systems.

The incumbent is a key and active participant of the Foundation College which operates throughout the South East and Peninsula Region however the role has a broader scope and requires an understanding of learning and employment pathways in the municipalities across this region.

**ABOUT YOU**

You will have tertiary qualifications in the youth, community, employment, and / or education sectors and the following skills and experience:

- Relevant experience engaging with disenfranchised learners, in particular those with diverse and multiple barriers to employment
- Experience with individual case management of people at risk
- Knowledge of the education, training, employment and wellbeing service system
- Demonstrated experience in building positive professional relationships with service providers, employers, educators and the broader community to enable effective referrals for clients
- Proven ability to assess learning and non-learning needs with experiencing in assisting individuals to remain in education and training
- Demonstrated ability to be energetic, flexible, manage priorities and stressful situations, while monitoring own wellbeing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting and facilitation skills; intermediate (or above) office system skills, including databases and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Understanding and commitment to being non-judgmental towards people, their experiences and their choices.
