**Who are we looking for?**

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Lecturer in Creative Practice (Interdisciplinary) to join School of Creative Practice, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, Academic Division.

The successful applicant will play a central role in designing and delivering Units that are core to all students across the School of Creative Practice in either the Bachelor of Fine Arts and/or the Bachelor of Creative Industries. The successful applicant will work across multiple disciplines in the Creative Industries in ways that align with and build upon the School’s disciplinary strengths.

The School brings together a range of creative practice disciplines, and consequently provides students with the opportunity to engage in transdisciplinary approaches to their learning and/or research activities - reflective of collaborative experiences in the real world.
The curriculum is structured around core units with study areas in the following:

- Animation
- Film and Screen
- Creative Writing
- Dance
- Acting
- Drama
- Technical Production
- Music
- Visual Arts

During 2023, the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and the Bachelor of Creative Industries (BCI) curriculum are being reaccredited and this presents new and exciting opportunities for the School. Our courses provide a ‘space to create’ for students, where technical proficiency is combined with learning how to make meaning, in addition to how to be collaborative, and socially engaged practitioners. Individuals wishing to further their skills and knowledge through postgraduate study, can undertake practice-led or practice-based research programs that are internationally renowned for their innovative, creative, and commercial contributions to Creative Industries and broader industry fields.
The School has established international connections including teaching and research partnerships with leading institutions and organisations across Austria, China, East Timor, France, Germany, Norway, Indonesia, South Africa, South America, United Kingdom, and the United States.

**What you need to succeed**

You will demonstrate:
1. Completion of a doctoral qualification.
2. A strong record of engaged and impactful research in the creative industries; evidenced for instance by publications in relevant high-quality journals; success in winning competitive research funding from key national and international funding bodies; completion of high impact research projects with government, industry, or community partners; consultancy with government, industry, commercial and/ or professional bodies.
3. Demonstrated strong learning and teaching profile; including scholarly and innovative approaches with demonstrated positive student feedback, as well as successful supervision of higher degree research students in the relevant area(s).
4. Demonstrated track record in establishing and maintaining multidisciplinary teaching and research project collaborations, with industry, community, and/or government partners in the arts, education, social services, health, and/or other sectors, nationally and internationally; with evidence of project completions through effective project management.
5. Demonstrated expertise in entrepreneurial, experimental, and community-engaged creative practice, including, digital creative practices, and immersive media technologies (virtual, augmented, mixed, and extended reality).
6. Expertise in at least one and demonstrated abilities in collaborating across multiple of the following study areas; Film, Screen & Animation, Visual Arts, Music, Acting & Drama, Dance, Technical Production, Creative Writing.
