The role of a Maintenance Hand is to deliver exceptional service to all guests through a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to our property facilities and gardens to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. This role involves undertaking preventative maintenance, addressing maintenance issues promptly in collaboration with team members, and contributing to the overall guest experience. Based at our winery in Yarra Glen, we are seeking to appoint a Full or Part Time Maintenance Hand to join our team who is motivated, hands on, and reliable.

**The Role**:

- Perform repairs on equipment, fixtures, and furniture as needed, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Lawn mowing, edge trimming, removing garden debris, watering and fertilising lawns and gardens, cutting and trimming plants as required, cleaning driveways.
- Address and resolve urgent maintenance issues to minimise disruption to guests and staff.
- Ensure that facilities and public areas are clean, well-maintained, safe, and visually appealing.
- Collaborate with housekeeping and front office staff to address any maintenance-related concerns affecting guest satisfaction.
- Assist in routine inspections and preventive maintenance of facilities and fixtures.
- Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring availability and proper storage.
- Coordinate with external contractors or service providers when specialised repairs or maintenance are required.
- Report any issues, damaged equipment, missing items or areas for improvement to management.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests or complaints related to property facilities and features.

**About You**:

- Experience: in building, gardening, maintenance or handyperson role, particularly in a tourism or hospitality setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in a range of maintenance tasks, including electrical, gardening, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs. Experience using various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills to identify and address maintenance issues efficiently. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems independently and creatively.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in performing maintenance tasks and inspections to ensure high standards of quality and safety. Notice and address minor issues before they become significant problems.
- Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing high-quality service to guests. Ability to handle guest requests and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- Time Management: Efficient in prioritising and managing multiple maintenance tasks and responsibilities. Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Teamwork: Collaborative approach to working with other staff members and departments. Support and communicate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals
- Manual Driver’s license
- Forklift Licence (desirable)
- Have a reliable car to drive to and from Yarra Glen
- Full working rights in Australia.
