**About the role**.**:
Our government client is seeking an ICT Planner as part of an SPM delivery channel in the pre-project and project lifecycle, encompassing:

- Estimation process (working with Business Engagement Manager’s and IT Practice Leads, e.g. Business Analysis; Solution Architecture; Testing) to provide the business a value proposition,
- Establishing the forward year delivery schedule including resourcing
- Supporting the planned and in-flight delivery of SPM initiatives

The role also provides support to the Portfolio Delivery Manager responsible for the delivery of SPM initiatives to achieve an integrated planning and reporting view across SPM outcomes and delivery phases.

Additionally, this role is expected to provide professional planning expertise and advice by proactively identifying critical peaks that may impact the successful delivery of the SPM Program of Work through leading portfolio analysis, iterative sequencing activities and collaborating with other key stakeholders to deliver an optimised plan for all SPM projects.

Utilise portfolio data, lessons learned and both business and technology roadmap information in consultation with other Portfolio Delivery staff to continuously improve the ICT estimation and project delivery process.

This role reports to the Portfolio Delivery Manager, Project Services (part of the Information Services branch).

**Key responsibilities**.**:

- Working with business areas and ICT Practice leads to understand the type, size and complexity of requests.
- Plan and deliver a sequence of project delivery.
- Assessing customer ICT requests based on a set of criteria
- Complete the planning process - Ideation to Delivery
- Preparing holistic view of SPM initiatives and progress
- Coordinating resources to fulfil approved initiatives

**Mandatory criteria**.**:
We are looking for an experienced ICT Planner/Scheduler with the following skills that will contribute to the successful delivery of SPM Initiatives:

- Ability to contribute to team direction, work autonomously, give and receive feedback and achieve agreed performance standards in order to contribute to a culture of performance excellence.
- Well-developed written, verbal communication and customer service skills including ability to liaise appropriately with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability in IT software programs, including Planning tools and presentation software.
- Demonstrated skills in Project Management, data analysis and management and interpretation of ICT requests.
- Ability in delivering presentations, consultation, and communication with stakeholders on ICT issues of moderate complexity.
- Ability to assist Project Managers to manage projects to be completed on time and within budget.

**Desirable criteria**.**:

- Tertiary qualifications or substantial progress towards qualifications in a relevant discipline including Project Management; Scheduling/Planning.
