The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health practitioners. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
The Policy and Project Officer supports the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia to deliver key parts of their regulatory work plan. The role will provide research and advice to support the policy and program goals and contribute to the broader regulation of health practitioners.
The Policy and Project Officer will manage individual projects, development and implementation of stakeholder plans, and contribute to the development of registration standards and professional codes, standards, and guidelines, for consideration and approval by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia. The role will be a key point of communication and engagement for the medical radiation practice profession and the wider community of stakeholders.

**In this role you will**:
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Officer, Medical Radiation Practice, and the broader Ahpra team.
- Review, develop, and implement the Medical Radiation Practice Board’s communications and engagement strategy, to communicate to a range of audiences, including the broader industry, patients, and the public
- Undertake research and develop evidence informed advice and policy
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with National Board and Committee members
- Preparation of agenda and policy papers, briefings, and correspondence for the National Board and Executive Officer.
- Develop and implement Board approved plans and budget for key projects.

- Hold Bachelor level qualifications in health, policy, or communications
- A tertiary qualification in medical radiation practice is desirable
- Experience with medical radiation practice profession
- Experience in the development of policy advice, ideally relating to health or medical radiation practice or regulation.
- Experience working with oversight Boards or Committees
- The ability to build constructive and respectful relationships with stakeholders, including the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Advanced verbal communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and responsive, coping well under pressure, responding, and adjusting easily to changing work demands and circumstances
