Due to expansion, the team are now looking for an experienced Payroll Team Leader to report directly to the Payroll Manager and be a vital addition to these Paramatta based clients, customers, and project teams.

As the Payroll Team Leader, you will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for ensuring the business delivers, so previous exposure to payroll processes is crucial.

**Your responsibilities include but aren't limited to**:

- Managing and coordinating end-to-end payroll services to ensure accurate and timely remuneration of staff, the distribution of timely information to employees via pay advice/payslips, compliance with Council policy and with taxation, superannuation and all other relevant legislation, managing Workers Compensation payments through Payroll and managing and processing taxation obligations, including compliance with the ATO's Single Touch Payroll requirements.
- Ensuring that payroll details are processed in accordance with relevant awards, agreements, taxation and other legislation.
- Providing expert advice and consultation on relevant legislation, agreements, awards, policies and procedures to ensure effective customer service to managers and executive management as well as providing friendly and professional service and advice to those who come in contact with Payroll Services.
- Ensure that the Team deals with pay queries and provides support and advice to employees as appropriate.
- Overseeing the processing of terminations, package updates, maternity leave & other leave ensuring compliance with legislative and award requirements.
- Contribute to the ongoing maintenance, development, implementation and refinement of Payroll and other core systems, technology, and processes, working collaboratively with key stakeholders and project teams as required, including key HR and systems team members.
- Maintain a strong relationship with stakeholders, third party vendors and promptly resolve/respond to queries & escalations to their satisfaction.
- Monitor and ensures the process compliance and update the SOPs as and when required to ensure the process adherence.
- Ensure the delivery of all the SLAs and review daily, weekly, monthly performance including the creation of performance reporting.
- Provide guidance, support to the team and should be able to predict the delivery in short term.
- Prepares the team level / process level requirements for self-assessment to ensure delivery predictability for the specific process.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years' experience in payroll
- Must have team leader experience in payroll
- Good attention to detail
- Have a understanding of payroll
- Must have an understanding to interpret awards
- Ability to work under pressure
