Sports and Recreational Planner

Maxima Tempskill is seeking a Sports and Recreational Planner to start within a Local Council.
This role will be an asap start with full time hours on a temporary basis.
We are seeking an experienced and competent Recreational Planner to lead the facilitation and coordination of the councils vision and strategic approach in achieving a healthy region through the planning, development and delivery of sport, recreation and physical activity related matters.
In your next role you will see yourself completing the following duties.
- Strategic Planning and Expert Advice - in terms of network and facility planning, community needs and industry planning including coordinate policy and strategic direction setting projects.
- Project Management - Of site and land use planning: project oversight of complex capital and research projects.
- Leadership - Of work units and teams, inter-branch project teams, interested stakeholders and appointed consultants.
- Engagement and Communication - With a variety of stakeholders, elected members, lessees internal and external including all levels of government and national and state level sporting organisations.
Skills required:
- Comprehensive knowledge in the development, implementation and evaluation of project, programs and services designed to build the capacity of sport, recreation and physical activity organs.
- Demonstrated experience in Leadership and supervision of staff.
- Demonstrated knowledge and work history in sports and recreation and understanding of strategic and governing frameworks of operations at local, state and national level.
- Well developed working knowledge and extensive practical experience in leading and delivering the development of sport and recreation within a complex political environment, including qualifications in Sport and Recreation or related discipline.
