Toowoomba Grammar School, a leading independent boys' school in Queensland, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced educator to join our team as the Head of Diverse Learners. This key leadership position plays a central role in supporting and enhancing the educational experience of our diverse student body.

**About Toowoomba Grammar School**

Toowoomba Grammar School was founded in 1875 and is a member school of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland (GPS). It is an independent non-denominational day and boarding school for boys with a total enrolment of 1,200 from Preparatory to Year 12. There are approximately 300 boarders in the School coming predominantly from throughout Queensland, Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. The School’s campus covers 20.5 hectares and is located one kilometre from the centre of Toowoomba.

**About the Position**

As the Head of Diverse Learners, your primary purpose will be to lead the Senior School's program in support of Diverse Learners. You will act as the central point of contact for students, parents, and staff, providing specialist advice on student integration, remediation, differentiation, and extension.

You will also oversee the Learning Support staff in the Senior School and collaborate with the Deputy Head Teaching and Learning Junior School to ensure appropriate deployment of resources based on student identified needs.

**Selection Criteria**:
You will be able to demonstrate your ability and commitment to:

- **Educational Leadership**: Demonstrated experience in educational leadership within a school environment, with a focus on supporting diverse learners. Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of Learning Support staff, ensuring the delivery of effective and inclusive learning programs. Showcase your capacity to drive positive change and foster an environment that motivates and enthuses students in their educational journey.
- **Expertise in Inclusive Education**: Possess tertiary or post-graduate qualifications in education in the specific specialisation area, and eligibility to be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers. Highlight your specialist knowledge of the Queensland and Australian curriculum, pedagogy practices, and an understanding of differentiated instruction. Showcase your ability to modify curriculum content and delivery to meet the needs and interests of young men.
- **Student-Centric Approach**: Proven ability to provide specialist advice and support to students, parents, and teachers in relation to student integration, remediation, differentiation, and extension. Demonstrate your capability in case management of diverse learners, including developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education Adjustment Plans (EAPs). Emphasise your experience in advocating for students needing additional support and maintaining productive working relationships with stakeholders.
- **Collaborative Communication**: Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels. Illustrate your capacity to liaise effectively with psychologists, external support services, school counsellors, and staff members to ensure seamless communication regarding individual learning needs across the Senior School.
- **Passion for Continuous Learning**: Display active participation in continuing professional development and learning. Demonstrate your commitment to staying up-to-date with best practices, research, and advancements in the field of diverse education. Showcase how you have contributed positively to the team through your innovative and proactive approach.
- **Alignment with School Values and Mission**: Demonstrate your support for the aims, objectives, and ethos of Toowoomba Grammar School in both its curricular and co-curricular programs. Show how you embody the school's values and how your educational philosophy aligns with the school's vision.
