**About the Service**:
This is a small, Exceeding rated Service. We have our own dedicated OOSH space & a great, well established relationship with the school community and our wonderful families. You would be working alongside a great team of people including a network of Coordinators from other local Services.

**About the Role**:
This is a full-time, child facing role that will keep you meaningfully connected to the children & families of the service. You will have the support of a well established small team & mentorship of our Director.

This role consists of 30 hours face to face = 5 x split shifts & 8 hours of administration (4 x hours fixed working alongside our organisational management team & 4 hours flexible around your own commitments. Enjoy some large gaps in your day & take advantage of the local lifestyle opportunities.

This position is identified at Level 5 of the Children's Services Award & remuneration is above award.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- To plan the Centre’s program. The program should be a combination of play-based learning

experiences, focusing on different play types, that fosters dramatic & creative play opportunities.
- The program should be relevant to the needs of the children and community and the Centre

Manager will be responsible for working with children and giving counsel as to exploring children’s

interests and abilities and extending & scaffolding on these for their ongoing learning journey.
- To make sure activities and experiences at the Centre can develop the social, intellectual, cultural and physical abilities of each child.
- To supervise children at all times, ensuring their well being and safety.
- To recognise needs of children at different stages of development and to assist in ensuring these needs are met.
- To check the Centre’s equipment and make sure it is adequate before the program starts
- Equipment should be varied enough to offer a stimulating program.
- To treat all children with dignity and respect.
- To display the Centre’s Program for all staff, parents and children so that everyone can understand what will be happening each day. This helps the team of Educators to follow the program, encourages parents to feel part of the Centre and can encourage children to participate in the program.’
- To monitor and evaluate the program regularly and involve staff, children and parents in evaluation sessions.
- To organise the day to day runnings of the centre.
- To mentor and direct staff to carry out daily tasks and to work towards current goals and outcomes.
- To make sure staff and children leave the centre clean and tidy each day.
- To make sure supervision of children, indoors and outdoors and staff ratios are adequate at all times.
- To make sure children with special needs are adequately catered for and the program allows them maximum participation in activities.
- To evaluate Centre Policies and the program along with the Directors.
- To make sure staff and children and parents develop a sensitive positive relationship.
- To ensure that children enrolled in the program are accompanied and collected from school and arrive safely to the Centre.
- To make the removal of any unsafe items/equipment until repairs are completed.
- To participate in reviewing the Centre’s discipline procedures and implement them.
- To work with other staff members as a team.
- To build positive relations with local schools, groups and authorities.

Essential qualifications, experience and criteria:

- Cleared WWCC for paid employment
- Police Check
- Accredited Child Protection Training & knowledge of current legislation
- Current First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Training
- Relevant childcare, teaching or OOSH qualifications and/or experience
- Experience, knowledge and education in play based learning experiences and planning relevant programs
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework
- Passion for working with people
- Strong interpersonal skills - confidence, maturity and sensitivity in responding to the needs of parents, children, staff and other community members
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Exceptional communication skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $1,250.00 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Fixed shift
- Morning shift
- No weekends
