**Company**:
This company has historically managed building maintenance, surveying, engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, program management & property services for the QLD Government. They are now looking to appoint a trade-qualified electrician who is eager to take a step into more of an inspector's role to oversee and review various product installations and ensure quality control to AS/NZS standards.
**Position**:
To be successful in this role you will have recent experience working as an Electrician:
- You will assess and then report maintenance requests to the trades staff on a daily basis.
- You will be required to drive to the depot to then dispatch in a company vehicle for the day.
- You will need to be computer literate as reporting and communication is an essential part of your job.
- Inspecting electrical installations to validate compliance with AS/NZS Standards, Contract Documentation, Specifications, and standard of workmanship.
- Inspections will be carried out for Smoke Alarm installations in Government owned houses.
- Inspections for switchboards, sub-circuits, and electrical reticulation systems in DET schools, and LED lighting installations in DET schools.
- Electrical site inspections of upgrade projects and air conditioning installs.
- Carry out safety audits to validate that electrical contractors are following their SWMS.
- Investigate technical issues and write technical reports.
- Reporting status of works to line managers and others.

**Your Experience and Qualifications**:
- Ideally possess 3-5+ years of recent post-trade experience as an Electrician
- Confidence in your abilities to communicate with Senior Management and ground staff.
- Have the ability to work both autonomously and as a part of a team.
- Must hold a Blue Card and Current QLD Driver’s Licence
- Must have a thorough understanding of AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), and the Electrical Safety Act, Regulations, and Codes of Practice.
- Must have completed training in asbestos-related work practices (certified training).
- Must be able to pass a criminal history check.
