**About us**

We are an independent statutory authority responsible for the curriculum, assessment, teacher accreditation and regulatory standards in NSW schools, and accreditation of early childhood educators. NESA is responsible for developing policies and initiatives for evaluating and improving quality teaching and student learning across all schools and school sectors.

The Manager, Internal Communication and Engagement will join our Strategy and Capability Division which is an interesting and diverse group of Directorates providing NESA’s executive support and corporate functions, including Innovation Strategy and Projects, People Operations, ICT, Ministerial, Board and Executive Services, Communication and Engagement and Finance and Governance.

**About the role**

In this new role you will lead and own NESA’s internal communications function by developing and implementing an internal communications strategy which supports and enhances the employee experience, enterprise knowledge sharing and change initiatives.

This is a varied role including intranet content, digital communication, face to face events, videos and newsletters to inform and engage employees and partnering with the CEO and Executive members regarding communications.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

- developing and implementing the strategic direction and coordination of the internal communications and engagement strategy and plan to support business goals, including effective delivery of internal communication initiatives and the production of supporting communications, written materials, electronic communications and events.
- maintaining strong relationships, proactively consulting and collaborating with business units and senior executives to support the successful delivery of internal communications and engagement programs.
- drafting and editing high quality written material within tight timeframes and providing coaching and support to staff in the same.
- quality assurance, tone and key messages in all internal communications.
- developing and implementing appropriate metrics that evaluate the success and impact of internal communications and engagement strategies, channels and initiatives to promote continuous improvement.
- developing and implementing strategies and tools for monitoring and evaluation of the internal communications framework, including risk and contingency management, and impact and quality measures, to identify and address progress and overall effectiveness of the strategies.

Essential for your success is:

- Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, event management or similar, and or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience leading and managing the development and delivery of internal communication, digital services and events to assist in effective pro-active and responsive communication, engagement and issues management in a complex, geographically dispersed organisation.
- Strengths in executive level stakeholder engagement, exceptional planning and coordination skills and highly polished written and verbal communication skills.
