**Position Information**:
Keira High School is a high performing comprehensive, coeducational high school in North Wollongong proudly serving the local community. The learning community is enriched by a diverse student population of 796 and significantly includes 39 students of Aboriginal heritage.

A focus on delivering the enabling conditions for every classroom at Keira to be highly effective learning environment will focus on explicit and high-impact professional learning and professional collaboration.

The school enjoys strong partnerships with the Keira Community of Schools and promotes itself as the local high school of choice for families living in Mt Pleasant, Balgownie, Fairy Meadow, Mt Ousley, North Wollongong and Coniston.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,

Demonstrated strategic and instructional leadership to collaboratively lead high impact professional learning that enhances staff capacity in teaching and assessment practices.

Highly visible, approachable, and responsive leadership with proven ability to actively engage staff, students, parents, and the community to improve the engagement and wellbeing needs of a diverse range of students.

High level interpersonal and organisation skills with a proven ability to lead the implementation of the School Improvement Plan.

A highly visible leader with demonstrated outstanding interpersonal, communication and skills in systems and processes to manage the complex day to day operations of the school.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
