**Role Description/Criteria**

The role of Maths Coach is a key leadership position within the school. This role requires a deep commitment to the vision of our school and a strong desire to improve learning outcomes in mathematics for all students at St Joseph the Worker Primary School.

This is an ongoing teaching position with the Maths Coach tenure commencing in Term 1 2024. There is currently a POL 1 allowance for this position and this allowance will be reviewed by the Consultative Committee at the end of 2024..

This position is integral to the learning of mathematics in our school. Working with the leadership team, this leader will contribute to the collaborative decision-making process of our school. This leader will be an excellent role model for other educators through supporting and monitoring of learning, growth of effective educators and setting of high standards for students and staff performance. This role includes coaching and mentoring of staff in the teaching and learning of Maths.

The successful applicant will be organised, enthusiastic and a dedicated member of our professional learning team and is required for Semester 1 2024.

The successful applicant will:
be committed to the ethos of a Catholic school

be able to support teachers in delivering purposeful learning experiences in Literacy that are differentiated to accommodate a range of abilities and learning styles

have a sound knowledge of the Maths curriculum P-6 and high impact strategies to support best teaching practice

build teacher capacity in identifying and planning for students with a range of needs

support teachers in the provision of learning experiences that are engaging and purposeful

be able to support teachers classroom practice through coaching and mentoring

possess excellent communication, interpersonal skills and dispositions

be able to lead the effective use data to inform the teaching and learning of students

be accredited to teacher Religious Education

Hold current VIT registration

Have a strong commitment to the ethos of the Catholic school
