Dressmaker / Tailor

**What this role involves**:

- Working closely with the designer to interpret sketches and manually draft patterns for sampling
- To be involved in all fittings with the designated fit model & altering garments accordingly
- Effectively & clearly communicating with the sewing team on construction and quality of individual styles
- Assisting the Designer with any pattern and construction issues when styles are in the sampling process or during production
- Laying up and cutting fabric
- Sewing garments to specifications
- Pressing and finishing work
- Ensuring all workflow priorities are achieved
- Utilising your advanced technical garment construction skills and experience to provide feedback during prototype development and fit sessions
- Create and manage technical specifications to ensure documentation is accurate
- The creation of info sheets which include size specifications and product specifications
- Ensuring that the fit and quality of garment meet ZHIVAGO’s high quality expectations
- Update and maintain all updates on spec sheets per style
- Sample machining
- Toile or sample cutting as required

**What this role requires**:

- Demonstrated experience in garment tailoring
- Previous sample machining experience
- An impeccable level of organisation
- A strong understanding of stretch fabrics and garment tailoring across all categories
- A thorough understanding of how patterns work and a thorough understanding of garment construction on a high level.
- Sound understanding of sample cutting and how fabrics perform.
- Advanced hand and machine sewing skills.
- A high level of understanding of garment finishing.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills
- demonstrated ability to meet assigned targets and deadlines
- A very cooperative, positive & friendly demeanor.
- A willingness to assist and help wherever required
- A commitment to working additional hours for special projects if required
- Good computing skills

**Desirable skills**:

- Digital patternmaking experience
- Experience with Adobe creative Suite

**Salary**: $54,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Booragoon, WA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)
