We are now seeking a dynamic and innovative individual with a passion for Geospatial Sciences, Computer Science, with equivalent experience in Geospatial Information Systems Management. We are seeking a GIS Officer, to take charge of the City's dynamic information system and spearhead its widespread adoption across the organisation.

**As our GIS Officer, you’ll be responsible for**:

- Delivering and presenting timely, accurate and insightful location intelligence for decision making purposes.
- Maintaining our cadastral database and its relational database connections.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to analyse, design and build geospatial reports, maps and spatial data layers from the GIS Solution; as well as,
- Developing and maintaining innovative models and scenarios including 3D or oblique imagery to support City decision making requirements.
- Working with the different organisation units across the City to develop and implement Spatial Systems solutions.
- Providing training in Spatial Systems concepts and usage.
- Developing process automation routines to integrate data sources with internal spatial data.
- Liaising with GIS Software suppliers regarding GIS product issues and solution enhancement opportunities.

**To be successful in this role, you will possess**:

- **Essential -** Relevant tertiary qualifications in Geospatial Sciences, Computer Science or significant equivalent related experience in Geospatial Information Systems Management.
- Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft SQL Server including but not limited to query structures, stored procedures and scripts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish effective working partnerships across all levels of business.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve issues, balance competing priorities and commitments.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities through technology advancements for system improvement and provide innovative approaches to solutions.
- Experienced in the development and maintenance of 3D models and their integration to spatial tools.
- Demonstrated skills in business process analysis, mapping and re-engineering for change and management of that change.
- Demonstrated experience in process and system improvement and developing add-ons to GIS Systems.
- Experience working with Local Government systems such as property and rating, financials, assets, works and document management systems.
