**About the Role**
The Government and Media Relations Division is dedicated to achieving organisational objectives through communication with members, media, government, and stakeholders.

**About You**
You’ll be innovative, self-motivated, and able to work without direct supervision. With strong organisation and time management skills, you’ll be inquisitive, open to ideas and able to drive relevant and factual conversations. You’ll be experienced in research with the ability to write with pace and accuracy.

Tertiary qualifications in journalism, public relations, communications or other relevant qualifications and experience within a member-based organisation as a Media or Communications Manager would be a strong advantage.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and execute yearly strategic objectives and advocacy plans, incorporating stakeholder management and policy goals
- Manage media relationships and prepare media releases
- Provide high-level critique and feedback on policy documents, inquiries, and submissions
- Write content for various communication channels, including member communications, social media, CEO messaging and the monthly newsletter
- Maintain a thorough understanding of key industry issues and provide issues management support and advice to the team

**Experience and Knowledge**
- Experience working in media, government or a communications role
- Development and implementation of long-term communications strategies across multiple formats and channels
- Significant experience distilling complex messages into relatable material
- Ability to prioritise a variety of tasks at pace whilst under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Experience in engaging with or developing communications strategies in sustainability, supply chain management, or health and nutrition
