Dental officers Level 1 year 1 to 4 serve as practicing dentists who perform routine dental work requiring independent examination, investigation, treatment planning and treatment of patients.
The role is suitable for the new graduates as well as moderately experienced dentists, who are competent in basic tasks.
They may require regular professional support and mentoring.
This is a clinical position requiring a full clinical load. Corporate management functions are the responsibility of the Service

Dental Officer Level 1 Central Coast NSW, Permanent Full Time / Part Time available.
We are seeking a suitably experienced Dental Officer to join our large Oral Health Team on the Central Coast of NSW. If you are an enthusiastic and motivated dentist with a high level of knowledge, experience and clinical competency across the scope of general dentistry in a complex clinical setting this is an opportunity for you.
This is a clinical position with a full clinical load. There is no managerial or academic time allowance.
Level 1 Dental Officer:
Level 1 position applicants (from 1 to 4 years of full-time professional experience) must be able to perform examinations, investigations and basic treatment of commonly encountered dental diseases or dental health problems requiring standard corrective, restorative, surgical or preventive measures. Level 1 dental officers work in community or hospital clinics under the general oversight and mentorship of a more experienced dentist.
This position qualifies for the Dental Officer Rural Incentive Scheme Allowance (up to $20Kp.a) on top of Award Salary.
Suitable applicants will be placed on an eligibility list for future contract employment opportunities with the Oral
Health Service. The eligibility list shall remain active for 6 months.

- Registered and/or able to be registered with the Dental Board of Australia as a dentist.
- Demonstrated appropriate levels of knowledge across all areas of general dentistry.
- Demonstrated ability or potential to carry out a broad range of general dental procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to accept responsibility and accountability.
- Desire to provide supervision to undergraduate students on observational placements within CCLHD Oral Health Service Clinics.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in quality activities and workplace education.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Current Class C driver licence & Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
