**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Barker College is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced, innovative and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our Food Services Team at a prestigious education site.

This is a Full-Time, Term-Time role (38 hours per week) working 8AM to 4PM Monday to Friday during Term-Time. However, t may occasionally be requirements to work above and outside of these hours and days. Overtime will be paid for these additional hours.

Our Food Services Department caters for:

- Daily School Staff Meals
- Daily meals for 60+ Boarding Students
- 400+ catered events throughout the year
- Preparation and serving of 2500+ students

The Barker Food Services Team is an experienced team of supportive hospitality professionals, working in a great environment and culture. We are looking for Kitchen Assistants who will be able to effectively maintain a section of the kitchen, understand direction and to provide efficient service to all staff and students through the delivery of high quality products and services whilst adhering to the policies and procedures of Barker College.

The duties of the Kitchen Assistant will be diverse including:

- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, food preparation, storage and service areas
- Ensure equipment & appliances are clean and readily available for chefs
- Support the kitchen in preparing meals w required
- Assist with basic food preparation
- Assisting with day to day matters in the kitchen
- Willingness and capacity for flexibility of hours
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety issues relevant to the position, in the context of a school environment
