**About the role - Multiple Permanent, Part-Time**

With a therapeutic approach, you will foster positive experiences in children and young people’s lives, creating a sense of home and stability. This will be underpinned by working in unison with a small, dedicated team of support workers within one home, assisting our young clients.

Your support and connection will show in many ways whether it is helping with the school run, taking clients to sport on the weekend, or sitting around the table for an evening meal, you will constantly be enriching their lives and building life skills and independence.

**About you**:
You truly believe in the ability to foster and nurture positive relationships with young people, as you recognise the life-long influence it will have as they grow. You are enthusiastic, approachable, have a sense of adventure and are not afraid to get hands on in an array of activities. You also know how to manage boundaries, be safe and effectively supervise. You love building relationships and can effectively create bonds with children of all ages. You finish each day with a sense of satisfaction knowing the positive impact you’ve had on someone else, no matter how big or small.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

- Certificate IV in Child, Youth, & Family Intervention
- If not qualified in the above there is an abundance of training or qualifications that are recognised such as Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Youth Work, Allied Health, Disability, Nursing and more, click here to see a full list of recognised qualifications
- Previous experience in working with vulnerable and at-risk children and young people (desirable)
- Can work in high pressured situations and practice self-care
- Manage and respond to difficult and at times aggressive behaviours using trauma informed care and holistic client centred practice
- Efficient in completing administration tasks including case notes, mandatory reporting and handovers

**Specific Requirements**:
Baptist Care SA is committed to the safety and protection of all children and vulnerable people and as such applicants will be considered in accordance with our safety practices and suitability.

You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain:

- Ability to work across a 24/7 roster
- A valid full or P2 South Australia driver’s license (C Class)
- Fully insured and roadworthy compliant vehicle (roadworthy check required)
- A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
- National Police Clearance
- Approved Psychological Suitability Assessment
- Evidence of current COVID-19 vaccinations including any booster requirements
- A valid Child-Related Employment Screening via Department of Human Services
- Child Safe Environments Certificate
- Ability to work outside of normal office hours
- Travel within South Australia
- Willingness to drive clients for work purposes
- Caring for children under two (2) years ^
- Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Training for children & young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent (can obtain in employment)

Keep a work/life balance with a permanent, part-time position with 20+ hours on offer, with approximately 6 shifts or more across a fortnight. These will include a variety of shifts such as AM, PM, active & passive overnights.
