**About the team**

This role sits in the Safety, Environment and Regulation Division within the Security, Crisis and Emergency Management (SCEM) branch. SCEM’s main purpose and responsibility is to protect Transport for NSW, our people, our customers, our assets and the continued delivery of essential services for the people of NSW. SCEM aligns to the Safety, Environment and Regulation responsibility for connecting lives through safe, reliable and sustainable transport solutions.

**The opportunity**

We currently have an exciting, fixed term opportunity (up until 30/06/2024) for an Intelligence Officer to join the SCEM Branch. This role is responsible for the ongoing oversight of a range of available equipment, data assets and information sources required to support the Security, Crisis & Emergency Management (SCEM) branch with their response to cluster wide security, crisis or emergency management incidents, which have the potential to impact upon the transport network**.** maintain the overseeing and managing the day-to-day business of the Transport Emergency Crisis Coordination Hub.

The position forms part of the Security, Crisis and Emergency Management Team at Transport, which activates from time to time to manage emergency response and recovery. As such, the role may form part of an on-call roster and may be required at times to do shift and weekend work.

As Intelligence Analyst, you will be required to:

- Maintain the readiness of the SCEM branch Transport Services Functional Area coordination capability, to ensure the ability to monitor and respond to incidents that occur, including ensuring rooms are serviceable with the necessary equipment.
- Utilise all information and digital information sources available within the Incident Management Room or via technology platform to actively monitor the transport network for incidents or emerging impacts.
- Analyse available data sets to structure real-time situational awareness during activation phases, in the form of visualisations, reports and briefing notes.
- Maintain data and record management systems to ensure both timely access to situationally relevant data sources and audit requirements are met.
- Work in partnership with SCEM Duty Officer resources and various ‘on call’ teams for the early identification and reporting of emerging issues.
- Review, audit and undertake testing of SCEM physical equipment (GRN/Satellite phones etc.) to ensure serviceability, compliance with relevant policies and availability for personnel to utilise.
- Prepare, issue and receipt equipment to support Emergency Management training across the organisation.
- Monitor future requirements for SCEM equipment and prepare briefing notes to request for new equipment as required.
- Assist with the future development and management of new procurement contracts and the review of existing contracts relating to digital solutions within the monitoring room, equipment and technology platforms.
- Conduct periodic inspections of equipment to ensure its readiness and use in Emergency Management and its compliance with policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate the five ways of leading behaviours to deliver organisational outcomes for our customers, our people and communities for the greater good.

**About you**
- You have appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience in a similar role in sectors such as police, federal agencies, military, border force.
- You will be a natural problem solver and have strong research and analytical skills and can critically suggest solutions.
- Demonstrated strong level of understanding with the operation of complex digital systems.
- Demonstrated understanding safety/security processes and procedures.
- You will have a strong ability to build and maintain working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders across the wider Transport group as well as influencing and engaging effectively with stakeholders to procure required information.
