**The role**

In its 185th year, David Jones is in the midst of a dynamic organisational wide transformation as part of its new Australian ownership structure. With a focus on delivering our Vision2025+ strategy and enhancing David Jones reputation as the destination for high end women’s fashion, this incredibly rare Buyers Assistant role in our international designer team will be crucial in supported a curated product edit that captures the imagination of our diverse customer base.

As a Buyers Assistant at David Jones, you will work alongside your Buyer to drive commercial results for your category. You will collaborate both internal and external teams & partners to secure right the product assortment across a complex mix of high-end luxury brand partners.

Reporting to a highly experienced Buyer, we are looking for a positive and detail orientated BA with excellent stakeholder engagement skills to be able to liaise with our luxury vendor partners and drive successful outcomes. This will suit an emerging product person with experience in a similar role, who is highly organized, is an excellent communicator and has highly developed skills using Microsoft Excel.

**What does the role involve?**
- Quantify and complete Buyer orders.
- Monitor product performance and initiate markdown within policy
- Support the effective management of stock to satisfy customer demand
- In conjunction with the Buyer, maintain effective relationships with suppliers and support with the identification of new business opportunities and trends
- Assist the Buyer to maintain reorders within brand maps and price curves
- Given the international mix of the brand partner base, manage and track international shipments of product orders
- Monitor advertising stock back up and performance, inclusive of ticketing and sample coordination
- Monitor and maintain purchasing, sales, GP, OTB and inventory levels
- Monitor basic stock performance and recommend action to Buyer/ Merchandise Planner as necessary.

**What are we looking for?**
- Demonstrated experience working within a similar Buyers Assistant role in a retail environment
- Intermediate skills on Microsoft Excel including using VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise and meet conflicting deadlines
- Ability to problem solve within a critical thinking approach at speed
- Appreciate for/experience with international shipping highly regarded
