Mechanical Fitter

Workfast are a specialist Labour Hire and Recruitment business based nationally across Australia.

We are working on behalf of a client who are a recognised and well known engineering business who work within multiple sectors such as construction, mining and rail.

Our client is currently looking for Mechanical Fitters to start work in their Workshop located close to the Newcastle area on a full time basis.

**_About the role_**_ -_
- Mechanical fitting duties within a workshop environment
- Servicing mining equipment such as buckets, trucks and other listed equipment
- Opportunities to work on projects across NSW
- Supporting site teams with their project based requirements
- Working alongside other trades such as Boilermakers and Electricians
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools, as well as specialised equipment related to locomotives and mining equipment.

**_About you_**_ -_
- Must have Certificate III in Engineering (or equivalent trade qualification)
- Previous experience with Mechanical Fitting (Mining Equipment)
- Hold a white card (preferred)
- Knowledge on fault finding
- Have own tools (preferred but can also be provided)
- Any basic experience working as a Welder would be a huge bonus
- Be a team player but have the ability to work autonomously
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
