The Lovewell café provides a vehicle for our women to be re-trained and re-skilled to improve their health, wellbeing and participation in the community. The café is a leading social enterprise that provides an outstanding experience for our customers, clients, staff and volunteers while meeting our commercial targets and engaging the local community. **Events/Functions Coordinator**:
**The Opportunity**
An opportunity has arisen within our team for an Events/Functions Coordinator.
You will be responsible for coordinating all types of celebrations, including weddings, baby showers, engagements, corporate gatherings, birthday parties and more.
The position will work hand in hand with the café and kitchen teams to ensure our clients vision is bought to life.
**About You**
You will possess the ability to engage and communicate openly and clearly with
a range of stakeholders.
You will have an ability to create and implement event plans autonomously as
well as work in the event to support the café and kitchen teams when required.
Being a quick and innovative person, you will be able to make decisions to ensure the event runs smoothly and that customer expectations are not only met but exceeded.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Coordination and administration of all café events from concept to post evaluation. Events include but not limited to breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas, lunches, dinners, weddings, wakes, birthdays, fundraising and special events.
- Respond to all new client enquires, providing quotes and proposals.
- Contract, plan and execute all events and group requirements in conjunction with café manager and head chef, working closely with both to plan staffing, menus and dietary requirements for each individual event.
- Work to drive, source and create new business.
- Develop event marketing materials and promotional calendar, to ensure all planned activities are implemented.
- Other duties as directed from time to time.
**What you will need to succeed**:
- Be methodical, creative, innovative and have a passion for events and functions.
- Clear communicator, able to think on your feet, trouble-shoot problems as they arise and comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
- Take pride in providing great customer service and presentation.
- Reliable, trustworthy and able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task whilst also having great attention to detail.
- Looking to join our team for the long term, and grow the events part of the business.
- Be available to work irregular shifts, dependant on bookings and working towards the possibility of a full-time role.
**Must haves**:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Event Management and/or Hospitality _(preferred but not essential)_
- At least 2 years events/functions co-ordination experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Full driver’s licence and reliable car
- Flexibility and availability for a range of workdays and times
- A passion to create a great working culture
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25 per week
**Salary**: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
