In Victoria, The Flying Doctor has an extensive patient transport operation by air and road, complemented by a range of mobile and fixed primary health services, such as dental, optical, mental health, GP clinics, speech therapy and a growing number of digital health technologies.

RFDS Victoria’s Marketing and Fundraising Team is responsible for communicating the RFDS Victoria story to a range of audiences and for funding the ambition of the organisation, enabling us to deliver services to patients and clients. We work to ensure we maintain the financial stability and brand integrity of the organisation.

**The role**

This new position provides an opportunity for an enthusiastic communications professional to join our team. This highly valued, hands-on role will work closely with the Senior Communication Advisor to provide communication support for functions across the organisation.

Taking the lead with Primary Health, Fundraising and other external-facing functions, the Communications Coordinator will provide timely and best-practice advice to support RFDS Victoria operations and enhance brand.

**Tasks and responsibilities include**:

- Providing communication advice to external-facing departments such as Primary Health, Fundraising and special projects
- Providing communication support to the Senior Communication Advisor as required for major communication campaigns (internal and external)
- Developing written and multimedia materials and resources for distribution through printed and online channels
- Producing corporate and donor communications, briefing notes and collateral
- Managing of a digital agency to grow our online social community in Victoria
- Contributing to media and PR opportunities to promote the brand and drive awareness of RFDS in Victoria, leveraging existing campaigns and ambassador relationships
- Maintaining effective relationships with suppliers to drive quality service and manage costs
- Actively engaging and consulting with our fundraising team to provide writing and communication support that contribute to a seamless integrated supporter journey

***Skills and experience required**:

- Tertiary qualification or appropriate qualification (Bachelor Degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism).
- Minimum two-years’ experience working in a varied communications / public relations role
- Prior experience that demonstrates an understanding of not-for-profit sector drivers would be beneficial.
