We currently have an exciting role available for a Buyer to join our VF team for Vans. This role will be responsible for planning, assortment, selection, purchasing, pricing and coordination of promotions for our Vans portfolio.
**Your key responsibilities include but not limited to**:
- Identify sales trends highlighting best and worst performers
- Identify areas of opportunity within assortment and sales trends
- Develop a range selection and product grading in line with business needs based on planning/analysis
- Ensure gender/category breakdowns are in line with overall business objectives and assortment plans
- Review sales and sell thru and develop Markdown plan and recommendations.
- Monitor aged stock and perform consolidations accordingly
- Monitor best sellers and perform consolidations accordingly
- Allocate and purchase core items in line with company objectives and inventory targets
- Forecast core requirements, review and adjust core orders to fill business requirements
- Ensure core lines are always in stock with full size curves.
- Review core lines, store stock levels and replenishment monitored weekly.
- Liaise with Marketing Manager to develop promotional plan supporting key purchased stories
- Identify styles to support window campaigns and all social media and online strategies
- Track sales performance of such promotional plan and review/report success or suggestions for future
- Organise and undertake all preparation for promotional planned and pop-up sales. Suggest strategies of what product needs to be pushed, categories that need attention and ways to impact company sales targets inline with GP objectives
- Liaise with National, State, Area and store managers to ensure you are in touch with issues on the ground regarding assigned brands.
- First point of contact for all senior management and store team regarding any queries, issues or feedback regarding assigned brands
- Liaise with Brand managers reporting successes and giving feedback on the retail performance of assigned brands.
- Present to senior management and store staff regarding assigned brand strategy, trends, product knowledge and what is coming for assigned brands
**What we are looking for**:
- Demonstrated previous experience in a retail buying role ideally with retail apparel / footwear
- A passion for driving sales and achieving profit margins
- The ability to manage and maintain multiple supplier relationships
- Proficient in Excel - analysing data and managing reports
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with various stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to create, plan, monitor and execute multiple reports
- High sense of urgency with the ability to work autonomously and part of a team
- Excellent time management and organisation skills to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to problem solve and take initiative
