This is a grade range position, therefore in accordance with qualifications, accreditation, experience and demonstrated skills, the prospective employee will be assessed between Grade 14 to 16.

Essential:

- Tertiary qualifications in town planning or a closely related field
- A demonstrated working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, including experience in the assessment, processing and reporting of development proposals
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Highly developed time management skills and the ability to manage high workloads
- Negotiation and dispute resolution skills and a demonstrated ability to make decisions
- Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with all levels of internal and external customers
- Ability to represent Council in legal cases

Desirable:

- Experience in urban release area / growth area development assessment
- Experience in presentations to internal and external stakeholders (for example, regional and local planning panels)
- To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication. If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs._
