**Role**:
The Assistant Principal Wellbeing and Engagement Leader at Mount Rowan Secondary College will contribute to the leadership and transformation of the school to provide an excellent education and viable pathways for students by:

- Building a culture that reflects and promotes our college vision and values,
- Consistently developing relationships with all members of our school community to ensure consistency of agreed practices across the college to further enhance our educational philosophy,
- Contributing to excellence in teaching, learning and teacher pedagogy,
- Leading the development of student connections to each other, to staff and to the school and
- Building community participation within all aspects of the Mount Rowan School Community.

The role will ensure
- All students have the best opportunity to learn, grow and achieve,
- Consistent implementation of agreed practices across the college and
- All students wellbeing is developed and supported to be engaged and resilient learners.

**Responsibilities**:
**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work with the Principal team to provide leadership and modelling of college values
- Attend and actively contribute to Leadership and all other relevant college meetings and events
- Adopt college leadership and teacher expectations and model these to other teachers
- Hold staff accountable for implementing all college processes and procedures
- Contribute to the development of the MRSC Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan
- Contribute to professional learning at the College
- Support and mentor staff to improve their classroom practice
- Conduct performance reviews of a number of staff.

**SPECIFIC POSITION ACCOUNTABILITES**

The AP2 Wellbeing and Engagement Leader will:

- Oversee the Heads of House and Assistant’s in the student management of 2 year levels
- Oversee the Wellbeing Team, which includes student counsellors, school nurse, mental health practitioner, Koorie Mentor and Disability Inclusion Leader
- Oversee enrolments and transitions of students at specific year levels and between year levels, from Primary to Secondary or Middle School to Senior School
- Develop and review key wellbeing policies and programs, including the Student Engagement & Wellbeing policy, Child Safe Policies and Mandatory Reporting processes in conjunction with the School Principal and School Council.
- Develop programs to support student learning and growth as an individual to enhance their own learning and lead students to be more responsible for their own learning
- Develop relationships with local schools and networks to enhance student learning, teacher growth and community engagement.
- Regularly participate in Learning Walks with Leadership team members to monitor, promote and improve a positive climate for learning.
- Participate in House Meetings to support the Heads of House Leaders to oversee school wide positive strategies and development of students to be resilient learners and kind individuals.
