Our focus is on building a world-class Sustainability & Government Relations team that will shape the future of Environment, Sustainability and Governance for ATCO in Australia. This role will report into the Senior Manager - Sustainability Governance, ATCO Australia.
**About the role**
**_ ESG Performance Metrics:_**_ _Establish and enhance systems to monitor and improve ESG metric, proactively implementing corrective measures.
**_ Sustainability Strategy:_** Support the development of ATCO Australia's Sustainability Strategy, ensuring ESG targets in Corporate and Business Development proposals.
**_ Reporting Compliance:_** Ensure accurate timely ESG data reporting for regulatory deadlines, maintaining quality through validation processes.
- Stakeholder Alignment:_** **Contribute to an annual Australia ESG report, fostering effective communication and alignment with stakeholders.
**_ Goal Achievement & Communication:_** Contribute to sustainability goals, reducing emissions, improving efficiency, and positively impacting communities. Communicate achievements transparently in Australian ESG reports.
**_ Regulatory Compliance: _**Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability/ESG regulations and guidelines, including RET, NGER, Safeguard Mechanism, SDGs, GRI, SASB, and TCFD.
**_ Net-Zero Emissions Strategies: _**Contribute to strategies for achieving net-zero emissions goals, managing climate-related risks, and implementing best environmental practices.
**_ Continuous Improvement & Benchmarking: _**Stay informed about emerging ESG trends, benchmarking against industry peers, and driving innovation and differentiation.
**_ Cultural Integration: _**Foster a culture of sustainability and ESG awareness among employees, encouraging engagement in sustainability initiatives.
**What we are looking for**
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as sustainability, environmental science, or another related discipline including, but not limited to, finance/economic, social sciences or public policy.
- Relevant proven experience in a regulated sector (e.g., energy, finance) with a deep understanding of sector specific ESG risks & challenges, enabling the development of effective strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis, including the ability to identify trends, assess risks, and derive insights from ESG data. Strong quantitative skills for assessing and quantifying ESG metrics.
- Demonstrated ability in driving ESG performance, governance, and sustainability initiatives in medium to large corporate organisations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex ESG information to diverse stakeholders. The ability to create clear, comprehensive ESG reports and presentations.
- Knowledge in integrating ESG considerations into decision-making, operations, and strategies, ensuring transparent and trusted ESG reporting.
