About the role

The successful applicant will be working in Haematology and Blood Bank department. Duties will include running of QC, accepting of Blood and blood products from Lifeblood, preparing IVIg for patients, dispensing of blood and blood products to wards, pre-acceptance testing. Performing all routine laboratory investigations (manual and automated) and operate all automated equipment. Undertakes other laboratory duties as directed by the Principal Scientist or delegate.

About you

**To be successful in this role you will possess**:
Associate Diploma (Medical Science) or equivalent (essential)

Relevant experience in Haematology & Blood Bank (highly desirable)

Effectively applies technical knowledge to solve a range of problems

Effective written and oral communication

Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team

Customer focus approach

Quickly and effectively solves client needs

Shows initiative and flexibility

Computer skills with a knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel

Knowledge and adherence to occupational health & safety in the laboratory

Knowledge and adherence to equal opportunity legislation

Knowledge and adherence to privacy legislation

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
