**The Role**
Your role:
- Lead a team, allocate work, resources and tasks, set work area priorities, develop strategies and evaluate business outcomes.
- Accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced employees.
- Perform critical and complex engineering activities and provide advice in the field of aerospace engineering under limited direction.
- Accountable for exercising assigned engineering authorities and any Technical Regulatory Authority delegations.
- Demonstrate aerospace engineering knowledge and provide advice and recommendations on the development of advancements to established engineering principles, techniques, methods and regulations.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, actively participate in team work and motivate and mentor developing engineers.
- Tailor communication style and language to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assess technical and design packages including scoping, planning, reviewing, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions.
- Evaluate that the delivered materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks, provide recommendations and contribute to the implementation of actions.
- Monitor and ensure safety aspects of Defence materiel systems are considered and incorporated into aerospace engineering activities.
**About our Team**
The Technical Governance and Assurance Business Unit within Army Aviation Systems Program Office, is responsible for the development and management of logistics, engineering, risk and WHS governance programs, to deliver assurance outcomes for the organisation. The Technical Assurance officer will work within a small team of auditors and perform technical audits on our Industry Partner to ensure compliance against Defence Aviation Safety Regulations. This team is also responsible for the technical assurance of Industry partner deliverables and managing corrective action reports to improve programs and increase performance.
Typical tasks will include:
- Perform and monitor governance, assurance, auditing and corporate reporting activities.
- Provide advice on quality assurance processes and business improvement activities.
- Research and develop documents to facilitate quality assurance improvement activities.
- Suggest improvements to quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure appropriate performance against best practice.
- Recommend solutions to issues impacting on the achievement of desired outcomes.
- Report on audit findings to AASPO executive.
- Provide supervision and coordinate a small team of technical auditors.
- Provide education, support and expert guidance to AASPO staff with regard to auditing, assurance and governance activities.
